[i][b]Just saw the movie. I had heard the song, "Not Ready to Make Nice" and LOVED IT! I've got to admit that I have never been a big country music fan and so I was unfamiliar with their work. However, after all the fuss was made over Natilie's comment about the president, I was intrigued. It was good to know that, while I knew other people who felt as I did about our president's policies and ideas, (but none of the country-loving people I knew agreed with me) there were still more free-thinkers and sane people in our country.
My stepfather bought the Taking the Long Way album and let me listen. Now I have my own copy. I love the album. I love the messages. I'm outraged that my fellow Americans were either too brainwashed or too scared of what you represented that you had to face all of the bigots and idots who substituted their ability to think for hatred. Thank you for being true to who you are and for standing up for what is right. Keep up the good work and never lose faith in what you are doing. Our freedoms may be guaranteed by our Constitution but that will not keep us covered if people are allowed to keep their eyes closed to what goes on around them. I saw a bumper sticker that sums it up I think; "If you ignore your rghts, they will go away." Thank you for not ignoring yours (even if it all started by a little innocent joking).[/b][/i]
