New reports allege that the cancer has spread to other organs and doctors have given his only 5 more weeks to live. The 55-year-old actor has allegedly been undergoing radical chemotherapy at Stanford University's cancer center but the treatments are no longer affective. "He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure," said a source. "It's time to start praying for a miracle." Insiders say Swayze, who is married to Lisa Niemi, has lost weight because he is on a liquid only diet as he cannot keep solid food down. "Fun is where it's at. That's why you have to be there." Patrick Swayze is being treated for pancreatic cancer but is doing well enough to continue working, his representative said Wednesday. The "Dirty Dancing" actor has a very limited amount of disease and appears to be responding well to treatment, according to Dr. George Fisher, Swayze's physician. Fisher's prognosis was included in a statement released Wednesday by Swayze's representative, Annett Wolf. "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," the statement read.�"All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic. Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family." The New York Post and the�National Enquirer, however, reported that Swayze is losing his battle to cancer and only has a few more weeks to live. The Enquirer reported that the actor, 55, has been undergoing chemotherapy at Stanford University Hospital, but the treatment has had little or no effect�on treating the cancer. The actor�has two projects in the works: the movie "Powder Blue," and a television movie titled "The Beast," according to the Web site imdb.com. Both are scheduled for release this year. Its actually one of the roughest of cancers, with basically a 100% mortality rate. My grandpa was diagnosed on april 1st and passed on april 9th. Awful.. just awful. It's seriously horrible to watch someone you love go through this.. every day they get worse and worse. this might sound bad.. but luckily, my grandpa's was very fast and we didnt have to go through it all. They say once diagnosed.. you usually have about 6 months.. by the end of that 6 months, you are basically lose control of everything and become a vegatable. so serious. ~ Shanna ~ What would Natalie do? "Someone' was quoted as saying he's doing fine and responding well to treatment, but his own rep would only say "yes he has pancreatic cancer" and left it at that. I think it's possible he's worse off than they are letting on, BUT hoping that the latter story that he's responding well is true. My aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago and it metastisized to a couple other organs. They were able to just remove her gall bladder and portions of her other organs that were affected and she went through treatment and she's still with us. So it's not impossible to outlive life expectancy they give. "Fun is where it's at. That's why you have to be there."

Whether or not he has 5 weeks to live, he and his family should be left alone. It's hard enough to go through this without the prying eyes.

Shanna, that's so awful. At least your grandpa didn't have to go through that for very long...but that's so weird that he died so quick from diagnosis. How was he health-wise before being diagnosed?
